Since January 2021, The MLC has collected and distributed blanket mechanical royalties under the blanket compulsory license we administer. We also continue to match and distribute historical unmatched royalties transferred to us by DSPs for streaming usage that occurred prior to January 2021. To provide greater transparency into this work — and to show our progress in distributing these royalties — we've developed a Blanket Royalties Dashboard and a Historical Royalties Dashboard.

Blanket Royalties

Historical Royalties

Historical royalties are royalties from streaming activity that took place between 2007 and 2020, before The MLC’s blanket license went into effect. This dashboard shows historical royalties that have been successfully matched and distributed, broken down by rate period and DSP.

UNCLAIMED ACCRUED ROYALTIES

Explore the remaining unclaimed accrued royalties associated with 2021 blanket royalty usage. This dashboard shows current data by month, including total royalty pools reported, amounts distributed or in dispute, remaining unclaimed accrued royalties that may be eligible for future market share distributions, and more.
