The MLC collects and distributes blanket mechanical royalties under the blanket compulsory license, which we have administered since January 2021. We also continue to match and distribute historical unmatched royalties transferred to us by DSPs for usage that occurred prior to January 2021. To break down all of this royalty data, and to illustrate our progress distributing these royalties to date, we have developed a Blanket Royalties Dashboard and a Historical Royalties Dashboard.

Historical Royalties

Historical royalties are royalties from streaming activity that took place between 2007 and 2020, before The MLC’s blanket license went into effect. This dashboard shows historical royalties that have been successfully matched and distributed, broken down by rate period and DSP.
