Mike Molinar (Big Machine Music). Mike Molinar is the President and co-founder of Big Machine Music, a division of HYBE America. BMM is an independent, full-service music publishing company with offices in Nashville and Santa Monica. He is a founding board member of The MLC, where he has actively represented the vantage point of small publishers, administrators, and independent songwriters. Mike has served on multiple board committees, and uses his understanding of The MLC’s mission and operations to ensure that the voices of the independent music community remain strong in the governance of The MLC. Outside of The MLC, Mike oversees all aspects of BMM, which launched in 2012 and is now perennially included in Billboard’s “Top 10 Year-End Hot Country and Hot 100 Publishing Corp” lists. He has twenty-seven years of experience in music publishing exclusively at independent companies such as Starstruck Writer’s Group, Cal IV Entertainment, and his own boutique company, Effusion Entertainment. Mike also serves on the boards of the National Music Publishers Association (“NMPA”), Music Health Alliance, Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Hall of Fame Education Council. He is a member of the CMA, ACM and The Recording Academy, as well as a member of the 2021 cohort of Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program and was inducted to the Middle Tennessee State University Media and Entertainment’s Wall of Fame in 2021. A second-generation immigrant of Mexican descent from El Paso, Texas, Mike is a father to two young children.
