Andrew Wixen

Andrew Wixen

Andrew Wixen is a second-generation music publisher, who currently serves as the chief financial officer, chief operating officer, and co-owner of Wixen Music Publishing. He graduated from Northeastern University 2011 magna cum laude with a degree in Music Industry and a minor in Business Administration. During that time, he worked in Tokyo for a Japanese music publisher (Nichion Inc.) in the international department where he was responsible for setting up co-write sessions between Japanese and foreign writers and explaining the differences between the two industries to the foreign writers. His current job duties at Wixen Music include overseeing the finances, developing new business opportunities, targeting areas needing the implementation of new technology (RIP crayfish), maintaining synchronicity between the various departments, and overseeing the day-to-day publishing activities of a handful of clients including The Black Keys, The Ray and Wyn Ritchie Evans Foundation, Andrew Bird, and Rancid. Over the next five years, he’d like to see the publishing industry get ahead of rampant industry data problems, push for greater parity with master owners for streaming royalties, and help educate developing apps on how to properly license music. In his free time, Andrew enjoys visiting and seeing games in different baseball stadiums, traveling, and spending time in his vegetable garden.
